Born Thomas Jones Woodward in Pontypridd, South Wales, Great Britian, on June 7, 1940...Tom's father worked in coal mines of the Rhondda Valley, while his mother tended house and raised two children. The old Welsh of poetry and song were the love of the laborers, born of their earth, the life of their gatherings,. Tom was singing at an early age. He sang in Church, and with the choir in school.A more or less unsuccessful school career ended, as it did with most boys at age seventeen, and a wife and son followed at age seventeen. He sang in pubs at night for money for his new family and in 1963 had gained notoriety with his own group. Tommy Scott and the Senators. Gordon Mills, who had branched into songwriting and management, went to see Tom's performances. Mills became his manager and took him to London to promote him.Originally his voice was too loud, raucous, and his performance style was too sexual and forward. This was toned down a bit.In late 1964 he signed with Decca Records. The song, "It's Not Unusual" was his first big hit..by the next year, Tom was opening for The Rolling stones. Some of the huge single hits to follow were: "What's New Pussycat, "Help Yourself", and "Without Love."Tom currently performs in Las Vegas, at Bally's, and has performed many times at other casinos. His show is dynamic, and upbeat and he has released new songs, which he has included in his act. My favorite , on the performance level, was the song.."Kiss". It is done very well. Please enjoy one of Tom's songs presented on this page for today..."She's A Lady"..And enjoy the lovely fall-colored graphics. May God Bless each and all of my supporters.
