"Your Heart That Beats" |
From The Poetry Collection of Susan Jane Kahon |
Looking over my shoulder,Still looking to find you In some far away, warm memory... I keep the heart, that you left with me Trying to solve..it's deep mystery How I love that heart, that you gave so free.. Oh, how your eyes would sparkle and shine And I'll keep it forever, I promise you As long as your heart remains mine A heart that beats in the palm of my hand A heart that still stays so true A heart that blends with my own heartbeat All I need now, is the rest of you I'm often lonely, but I still do love you You're with me in the dead of the night That heart of yours never ceases to beat And it's never far out of my sight How can I tell you, once a heart is mine It's so very hard, to let it go.. I remember your lips, and your arms so strong That's why I'm still loving you so... The full moon is rising, in clouds of mist I see patches of light 'neath the haze.. I look at the wonder of having loved you And remember the sweet, good old days.. Every now and then, your heart rages on.. I feel it's presence, in my darkened room Remembering your touch....... Remembering when love........
