| Eunice Kathleen Wayman..is named the priestess of soul. Her stage name is Nina Simone, and she is a pianist and jazz singer..In 1990 Don Shewey wrote of Nina Simone in "The Village Voice".."she's not a pop singer, she's a diva, a hopeless eccentric, who has so thoroughly co-mingled her odd talent and brooding temperament, that she has turned herself into an exotic creature,a force of nature, spied so frequently, that every appearance is legendary. She was born in or therabouts 1933, in Tryon, North Carolina, daughter of John D. Waylon, and Mary Kate Wayman, an ordained Methodist minister. The house was filled with music constantly, and she learned the piano very early in life.. Her family moved to Philadelphia and she began to give piano lessons. When she discovered that one of her students was playing in a bar in Atlantic City, making more money than she did, she decided to go that route, also.By 1957 she found an agent, and the next year issued her first album, "Little Girl Blue" She was married twice, once to Don Ross, and then again to Andy Stroud. Both ended in divorce. Nina is a legend. |

| I close my eyes and put a spell on you.. I try with all my strength, to dream you into view A faded photograph, sits by my bed at night.. I don't know where you are, your vision's taken flight... Yet still I'm one with nature,opening that door... Venturing forth to find you, so willing to explore As nightime comes, and spirits come to pass.. I realize our love is made of fragile broken glass... I hold onto the poems, the feelings I am writing Hoping, I can make our love, even more exciting.. Hoping that the words, will somehow reach your mind Knowing that this spell, is the strongest I can find... I will still be there, at your journey's end And all along that path, you can call me friend.. Throughout the years, our hearts became entwined The bonds weren't broken, They withstood the test of time. With everything we've been through, my heart always knows That our love will remain, and Baby, it still shows.. This spell that I've put on you will never cause you pain For we have always loved,, without an ounce of shame. Happy Halloween , everyone!!!!
