"That's The Way Love Goes"
Sung By Merle Haggard
Honesty has always been the cornerstone of Merle Haggard's music, and honesty is the quality that drives his career. At the age of 66, with nearly 70 albums under his belt, his motto is.."If you do everything with some honsety and truth to it, people will recognize that." Merle has scored no less than 39 #1 country hits, won various Grammy, CMA, and ACM Awards, become the only California artist in the Country Music Hall Of Fame, as well as the only man to be invited to perform at the White House and invited to serve time in San Quentin Penitentiary. His compositions have been covered by a variety of acts ranging from The Grateful Dead, to Elvis Costello, he's been the subject of two multi-artist tribute albums, and he remains an iconic presence whose influence looms large over contemporary music. "The Raven's Pearls"
An original poem of love by Susan Jane Kahon
In dark of night, the raven's pearls
Wrap all around the sultry girl
And all the angels, to her sing
About the love, her lover brings

The scarlet letters that she keeps
Reveal the dreams within her sleep
No one knows her tears will flow
And, to his arms, is where she'll go

Life never again...will dare repeat
This love with him, she's found so sweet
A love so rare, it fills her mind
A love again...she'll never find

That's the way, love carries on
From twilight time to early dawn
Her face, the signs of age not shown
Her trials in life, are still unknown

Her heart so bold and full of life
Wishes she could be his wife
Her journey now, it takes her far
To rest her soul upon his star

His face is all she wants to see
She needs to solve his mystery
Until she finds him..in this world..
She'll wrap herself, in raven's pearls

A poem of love and depth
