Contemporary country singer, Martina Mc Bride rose to stardom in the late nineties, starting out with a more traditional approach and moving into pop-friendlier territory. She was born Martina Mariea Schiff in Sharon, Kansas in 1966, and discovered country music through her father, who led a local band called the Schiffers. She married soundman John Mc Bride, and in 1990 the couple moved to Nashville, where John worked for artists like Charlie Daniels and Ricky Van Shelton. Martina meanwhile worked as a demo singer...and her husband produced her own demo tape, which got her signed to RCA in 1991. Her debut album "The Time Has Come" was released in 1992. She has zoomed up the charts, and here is a lovely, romantic song from Martins Mc Bride for this evening, called "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me." Goodnight from Sugarfoot. |

" Safe In The Arms Of Love" |
From The Poetry Archives Of Susan Jane Kahon |
You put snowflakes in my mouth When you kiss me, and oh how I fly.... No other man could begin to touch The bright stars, within my blue eyes..... Light fills our darkened room As I react to your nightime bliss.. Your love is all I ever will need.. I'm so dizzy, just from your kiss.... We're safe in the sweet arms of love Together, like two spinning wheels We knit our love, all fuzzy and warm From the special things that we feel... Now, at Christmas, our bonds are set.. With just one soft, gentle touch Our feelings are free, not bottled up Because we love each other, that much.. One by one, like diamonds on ice A necklace of pure love, is strung.. The spark of chemistry riding high For a love that's forever....young.... Merry Christmas to lovers everywhere written by Susan Jane Kahon December 8 2003 ICYU 8:04pm Recovered: Oct. 9th, 2023 Some Links & Counters may no longer be Active! |
