| Jewelry is nice, but I think twice... When I think of the man of my dreams The white ice is grand on your wedding band But love's more important, it seems Silent stones, that gleam all day But they're really cold, dormant glass The portrait of wealth that they portray Is it really meant to last? Crystal gems that catch the sun's rays Are they prisms of supposed light? Or just a worldly symbol of pretentious class That fades into the gentle night I've had diamonds in my life At times I thought they would happiness, bring But without love, what do I have.. Just lonely teardops set in a ring.... Diamonds are rich, diamonds are rare But what I want can't really be bought I'd gladly trade all of my gems For the man who haunts my thoughts I'd forsake a diamond for one sweet kiss From one whose path lies apart For my love shines truly deep for him..
