"A KIND OF LOVING"
SUSAN'S POETRY IN MOTION
SONGS FROM THE PAST
This song was sung by Glenn Yarbrough Originally from the group "The Limeliters".It tells of how singing..a song is like a form of loving..and I thought that struck me as unusual..but it really is a form of making love to the audience..if you think about it.
My poem is about writing songs as a form of making love.Of course a song always needs a singer..but before the singer is the writer..
and sometimes a love song is sung especially for someone..no one ever knows for sure what a love song is all about or whom it is written for.
So the audience benefits when the singer sings the written song.
"I WRITE SONGS OF LOVE"
From the Poetry Collection of Susan Jane Kahon
I write simple songs of love..
No paper do I try to waste
I put all of my loving into a song
From memories of your dear, sweet face

I want even strangers to remember
My words of love that are true
Each person who listens to my songs
Will hear the words, written just for you

I want them all, to know you
I want them all to say..
She's loved that man so very well
That she can't put the thoughts away

I've been granted wishes neverending
And I've been so adored by your eyes
So I'll write you a song about it
From my daydreams ..the verse will arise

Let everyone hear the song we could be
So it can be sung everywhere
Let the words flow ever so freely
Let my dream of you, take me there

My loving is all in my music
And there'll never be any regrets
For telling the world that I love you
For my soul still adores you, yet

I'm teaching you about my love
My darling, you're all in my songs
Everyone hears the words that I write
But you've known that all along

Every word, to you, does belong
