"Too Much To Lose" |
Sung By The Kentucky Headhunters |
Susan's Poetry In Motion |
Back in 1968, brothers Fred and Richard Young began playing together with their cousins Greg Martin and Anthony Kenney at the home of the Young's grandmother. Informally named The Itchy Brothers, they soon added Mark Orr to the group. After thirteen years of informal playing, the band split up. In 1985, the band reformed minus Kinney, and with the addition of brothers Ricky and Doug Phelps. Now renamed The Kentucky Headhunters, the group played on the Chitlin' show, a radio program on WLOC in Munfordville, Ky. twice a month. This exposure landed them a deal with Mercury, on which they recorded their first album, 1989"s "Pickin' On Nashville". The single "Dumas Walker" reached number fifteen in 1990 and "Lonesome Me" went on to hit No.6 on the charts. The Kentucky Headhunter's latest effort, "Songs From The Grass String Ranch" was released in 2000. Here is a really lovely composition, all the way around, with vocals superb and grand guitar work. It is called "Too Much To Lose". Thanks Alice for graphics and pics...... |
"Confession Of Love" |
From The Poetry Archives of Susan Jane Kahon |
Be quiet, my love,we must not speak Just your touch, is what I seek.. My love speaks with my fingertips Not a word shall pass my lips.. I'll quietly whisper, oh, so sweet As our bodies melt, and meet... Moments kept, with you so near.. Each time we hold our love, so dear... I ache and hunger deep within My soul reveals my sacred sin... If God could hear me, He would bless The words of love, that I confess... Sleep tight, my darling, don't despair Your needs are, of all...I care.... Tomorrow comes, today will go And in this time , you will know... You're the only one I choose.. For you're too much, to really lose. written by Susan Jane Kahon Dec.1 2003 ICYU 8:56pm. Recovered: Sept. 11th, 2023 Some Links & Counters may no longer be Active! |
