Susan's Poetry In Motion |
Julio Jose Iglecias de La Cueva was born on September 23, 1943 in Madrid, Spain to an eminent physician and his wife. As a young man in Madrid he had a near fatal car accident that left him temporarily paralyzed and unable to walk for nearly two years. During this recuperation time, he wrote poems and and listened to the radio.Strumming away on a guitar, he began to sing music to his poems, as therapy .And he soon discovered his new passion in life. He surprised everyone by winning the most prestigious song writing contest in Spain with his winning compostion called (La Vida Sigue Igual) which means "Life Goes On". For the next fifteen years Julio composed and recorded his own songs, and the rest is history. Coco Lee, born in Hong Kong, but raised in San Francisco..was the youngest of three girls, all of whom could sing. Her mother, a medical doctor, had musical talent of her own.Coco for the most part, spent much of her spare time singing songs by her favorite artists, Madonna, Whitney Houston, and Debbie Gibson...so her move to the next level of performing came naturally. She entered a singing contest and her break came came when a local record company signed her up/Her music debut album was "Just No Other Way'.Her voice is very unique for an Asian singer. Together they perform this beautiful song. Please enjoy this duet of love, by Coco Lee and Julio Iglecias. |
"What Is It Then" |
From The Poetry Collection Of Susan Jane Kahon |
What is it, between us, then What is this score of time and place between the caresses of our souls.. The score of the times we've loved and shared, watching our future unfold? What is it then, each time we touch What passed through my body then....electricity? The touch of lips and rolling hips.. Forever changing my identity... I received your body so swiftly What had I felt when I first saw you? That day we mingled, great and small and we shared it all... But I longed for a more detailed view... Two strokes of your hand, and I melted What then, will come of this pleasure Your triumph over the conquest of flesh You always knew.. That our love was too strong to measure... What makes us being less than two? But so much more than one, in our trust You came and invaded my serpentine soul Making the world seem suddenly whole And put prints of your heart, in the dust. A seemingly odd and passionate poem that came into my heart this evening written by Susan Jane Kahon ICYU October 16 2003 5:36 pm Recovered: Sept. 28th, 2023 Some Links & Counters may no longer by Active! |
