"The Best Thing God Ever Made"
Sung By James Marvell

Genesis 1:27
James Marvell. original lead male vocalist of the 60's group, Mercy, is still shaking his head in amazement over something that happened more than three decades ago. In 1969 Mercy skyrocketed to #2 in Billboard with their million selling Warner Brother's mega-hit
"Love Can Make You Happy". They shared the top ten with Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra, and The beatles. Marvell cannot believe he was part of that music history. Fresh from theit hit, James Marvell and another Mercy member, Buddy Good, were feeling uncomfortable with the trappings of stardom. Soon Marvell heard the call of another voice- the voice of Jesus. He decided to take His direction, devoting his life to Christ and arming himself in a war against drugs. Here is a wonderful song based on Genesis 1:27..called.."The Best Thing God Ever Made."
"The Best Thing God Ever Made"
Written By James Marvell and Buddy Good/BMI
(c) 1973
So God created Man in His own Image, in the Image of God created He him, male and female created He them....

A long, long  time ago, God, He first made man
Then he made a woman, for him to love
That brings us to this day, and the words I'd like to say
Oh, how I love him so, for making you

For you've got to be, The Best thing God's ever made
And I love to hear you say, He made you just for me
Yes, you've got to be, the pride and joy of His heart
To think that you'd be the start and the meaning of love

Many years from now, we'll look back and say
Life has been good for you and me
Then I'll think of love, that precious gift of God
And I will not forget, where you came from.

For you've got to be, the Best thing God's ever made
And I love to hear you say, He made you just for me
Yes, you've got to be, the pride and joy of His heart
To think that you'd be the start and the meaning of love
