"Thoughts" |
From The Poetry Collection Of Susan Jane Kahon |
We, who have seen time grow old together And we who have dreamed of fields of gold Remember our childhood and all of those dreams And now, stories have to be told There are letters to write, words we can speak Of the love of our own flesh and bones We can tell of a love, lasting for years And how that love has taken us home Our love was written, always in prose Yet poetry runs in our blood As children, we knew, love was promised so true And we always knew it was going to be good.. We watched the stars, give out their light... And in moonlight, emotions unraveled.... So many things we've experienced now So many roads that we both have traveled... We knew when the rain came, to just let it be.. For the sun always comes out tomorrow And whatever the weather, we played along.. For sunshine, we always could borrow And we knew the secret of staying in tune.. Yes, we really perfected the art Rain, fog, or sun, never mattered at all We had the weather of love, in our hearts.
