"The Man Of Snow" |
From The Poetry Archives Of Susan Jane Kahon |
One dim candle, burning...low.. I'm underneath the mistletoe... All the visitors have gone... Just one candle, burning on.... Shadows lurking everywhere... Someone came, to kiss me there.. No footsteps heard, no voice, but only.. As I sat there, sleepy..., lonely.. Something in the still, cool night... Moved in darkness, by low light.... Lips unseen, kissed me so sweet... Then disappeared, into the street... I sat upright, and turned around... There was not an earthly sound... To the window, I did go...... To see a man, made out of snow... Standing there, alone, and blue... Hat perched high,... wearing no shoes... I prayed to God, and made a wish.. Then blew the snowman, back his kiss....
