Three people sent me this song as a request and I looked it up in archives of Elvis's lyrics .It's a beautiful yet sad song sung very mellow.I include in this page a link to an Elvis site that is very nice..spectacular for Elvis fans I rarely do Elvis, but had three requests for this song for people who are going through special hard times. This song was released on the soundtrack"EP" in 1964 and later on in the double features"Love In Las Vegas" and "Roustabout" |
My poem is about a love that needs someone to lean on .The strength lies in the man to comfort her as she needs a strong person to comfort her right now |
"Let me Lean On His Shoulder" |
From The Poetry Collection of Susan Jane Kahon |
I watch the darkened sky And see his face in clouds on high I watch the moonlight fade and dim As I wait just for only him Won''t he please let me have my dream? And let me touch a soft moonbeam? I just need him to lean on, now As much strength as God allows Let me awaken with a song Is wanting that so very wrong? A romantic wish to be reunited.. If only I were so invited Let him take me far away and be The gentle man he used to be I'm a lady who loves hard and fast But still I want my love to last Let me lean on his shoulder Let me not get one single minute older Before I tell him, oh so sweet How much his love's made me complete So let me lean on him tonight Let him hold me fast, in sweet delight Let me slumber slightly spent Knowing it was him that heaven sent I know now the stars are falling And it's still his name that I am calling Let him care for me Don't let him fall For I know I love him, most of all written by Susan Jane Kahon Sept 2 2002 8:32pm ICU!!!!!
