"DARK MOON"
SUSAN'S POETRY IN MOTION INDEX
From Elvis Presley's collection of songs
Images from Renderosity
This is a rare song I found while song searching and I really love it because it was one of my mother's favorite songs..she used to sing it all the time.I just never knew Elvis recorded this song..until I found it on an old record. It's almost sung a cappella with just acoustical  and vocal accompaniment. It's beautiful..and the more you listen to it..the more you like it.Here is "Dark Moon" sung by the immortal Elvis Presley.
My poem is about the light and dark side of loving, and if you really read it, about a love that fades in and out but comes back strong in the end...much like our lives really reflect love..not like in fairy tales..but real life.
"The Dark Side Of Loving"
From The Poetry Collection Of Susan Jane Kahon
Looking at the moon up in the sky
The splendor of this dark and lonely night
She thinks and ponders on their fate
As thoughts of loving him take flight

The moon shines on the water
Someone she wants to be forever
Makes words flow from her trembling lips
Words, she swore would leave her never

Lifting her soul out of it's grave
To play the game of hearts again for real
She's playing for his heart tonight
But she can't control the deck she deals

The moon drives demons from her door
Someone she once had left behind
She musteres up the courage
To bring him back to mind

The winds will blow inside her soul
And the streams and lakes will flow to land
To give her a drink of his sweet love
And he'll take her weary hand

Dark moon of the skies
Make him stop and ponder
Their fate in this vast universe
For there still is love..and wonder

Asking God..who made the moon
To bring them love tonight
For sadness only lasts so long
Before everything is right
