Billy Joel was born William Martin Joel on May 9, 1949 in Hicksville, Long Island, New York.As a young child, Billy's family moved to Levittown, a suburban housing developement on Long Island, in New York State. Billy discovered classical music at an early age, the age of four, a love that has stayed with him to this very present day.
Billy's early classical training provided him with a strong foundation for his future career. His influences were Ray Charles, The Beatles, Dave brubeck, Sam Cook, The Rolling Stones, and Otis Redding. Here tonight is his version of "Goodnight My Angel" or sometimes just called "Lullabye".Thanks Coco for tag and Thanks Alice for top graphic.

My lonely heart has hidden treasures..
Their secrets kept, in silence...sealed
My thought, my dreams, my only pleasures
Will be broken, if revealed..


At night, near sleep, I long for you...
Dreams, in evening silence come
Soft as the birds of darkness sigh..
My heart's feelings travel home..


Those feelings, strong, as passions rise
Float toward my ever fervent dream
Full of love, and wild sensations
A constant raging, flowing stream....


And the deeper impulse, that I've given
To you, in this shadowed twilight room
Gives us a glimpse of private heaven
Seeking a life, and world to come...


Now, close beside you, I will kneel
My heart's chosen one is near..
Leave me not, forever stay...
My love so true, my love, so dear..


You may sing songs of love to me..
As I raise my arms toward your embrace..
Distance and suffering, did you say?
As I remain in your state of grace..
